Tribulant is on Santa’s Nice List

OK, I’ve had a few rants and a few deep breaths and I feel more like myself now. So, in honor of my attitude adjustment, lest anyone think I just tear everyone in tech support extra orifices daily, I’d like to sing the praises of Antonie at Tribulant.com.
I’m working on a Wordpress site and sometimes, as I’ve said, Wordpress makes me curse. Ask Lisa. It bugs me that pretty much anything you want to do requires you to hunt down a plug-in and hope it works. Anyway, I needed a mailing list plug-in and Tribulant seemed to have just what I needed.
Wordpress Mailing List is a great plug-in that allows you to manage multiple mailing lists, subscriber lists and newsletter templates. I’ve been struggling to get it to work, though this time, I knew it was operator error and not the plug-in. Sometimes you can just tell when you’re being a dumbass, you know?
So, since I paid for the plug-in, I emailed their support. What followed were a series of really pleasant, helpful emails from Antonie. We did discover one glitch, so I wasn’t a total dumbass, which he promptly resolved on his blog. That little nugget immediately corrected my issue and I thought it very smart of him to post the solution on his blog instead of just solely for me. Now anyone with this issue can find the solution quickly and easily until a more permanent solution can be found.
Antonie is currently elbow deep in my FTP checking to make sure it was installed properly and otherwise getting it to work and it didn’t take any flying off the handle, crying, bitching or theatrics. Just a willingness to help and a tiny bit of time.
Tribulant.com has a couple other Wordpress plug-ins (and Flash apps), too, if you’re interested. I’ve not had a chance to check them out yet, but the banner rotator might come in handy for a client in the future.
Just want to give someone deserving props for being so helpful. There was too much grumpling going on.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s sounds kinda naughty when you say someone is “...elbow deep in [your] FTP...”?

For whatever reason (lack of coffee.. lack of sleep....lack of...other things) - I read the title of your post in Bloglines and it really caught my attention because my brain registered…
“Tribulant is in Santa’s Pants”
Don’t be too hard on me.. it’s been a long day. *sigh*
Love when plugin devs are helpful, nice and responsive! Those are the guys who get me to hit their donate button each.and.every.single.time - if they have one.

Having a relationship (no, not that kind) with IT at my company, I totally understand the issue of giving kudos to the people who deserve it. You did good, Joelle. IT always, always, gets shit on. But they’re also the first place for the worse customer service possible. When you get the right person, it matters.
Had the same experience at work. Shit hit the fan, I worked w/ IT on resolving it. I realized long ago that these are the people who get shit on and have to work until 4am to resolve issues. I bought my key contacts $10 Starbucks cards out of my own paycheck. I know it doesn’t seem like much. But they knew $50 total out of my own cash meant more than $50 out of corporate profits.
Again, you did good at giving props. Even a small blog kudos matters to them.
Yeah, kudos to your… uh… kudos.

I just tell tech support that there is a screw loose in the driver.
They appreciate geek humour

Wondering what that says about me.
I *think* I’m still alive, but I am really, really old.
