Next Up: The Jetsons Clean the Toilet

I’ve been known to spontaneously make up songs for any given occasion. I also take existing songs and replace the words to suit my needs. Sometimes I don’t realize I’m doing it… like today.
While taking my vitamins in the kitchen just now, I found myself singing to the tune of the Spiderman theme song:
Vita-min, Vita-min, does whatever a vitamin can!
Make me healthy! Feelin’ good!
Just as a vitamin really should!
Look out! Here comes the vita-miiiiiiiin!
Ok, so it wasn’t syllabically sound, but more curious is why Spiderman was my chosen melody. It’s not like I stood there pondering the appropriate diddy to parody while I took my vitamins. It just came out of my mouth for assessment later.
Anyone else do this? Certainly someone must… my dad used to do this, too, now that I think about it. I wonder if it’s genetic…

Not only do I do this, but Will and I were in Vegas last weekend when we passed a slot machine called “Cash Fever.” Simultaneously, we both belted out - in the exact same tune “CASH...feeeeeeeveeeeeer.”
Either we are both insane or meant for each other. (Or both.)

I do this ALL THE TIME. I am so relieved to know that other people do too. My husband jokes that I should put together a compilation album of all of my made up songs. Maybe we can partner on that.
LOL! My husband does this all the time. Half the time he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it until I start cracking up at the ridiculous song he makes up!
I can’t thank you enough for implanting the Spiderman song into my head.
Please make it stop!

I do it, too. All.the.time. It cracks Joe the hell up most times, and others it scares the bejebus out of him - depending upon how many songs I meld together into one retard fest. Hee. And he will occasionally ask me if I even know which songs I’m bastardising into one pile of shit, and laughs harder when I say I have no clue, it’s just some random shit rattling around in my head from growing up with five brothers playing their competing stereos non-stop from the time we woke up till the time my mother yelled up and downstairs to knock it the hell off.
I do it in my head, but typically not out loud. My daughters both do it, especially the younger one, HRH Princess Allison. Nothing as cool as the Spider-Man theme, though. Usually set to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Frere Jacques.

I do this all the time! As a kid I would use the Sesame Street melody and make up new lyrics. Drove my sister crazy! It must run in the family cause my niece makes up songs too but by being 4 I guess it’s not crazy. Plus I hum movie and musical themes a bit. The Indiana Jones one is embedded in my head all month.
you are a born rapper!
