2007: My Year in Review
Joelle said around lunch time on December 31, 2007

The end of the 2007 is nigh and I’m ready to party like it’s… well, like it’s 2007. I hate this new trend of cranking up cover charges and drink prices to exorbitant levels on New Year’s Eve… even at the dives! To hell with going out tonight — it’s Amateur Hour. Give me a DVD and a bottle of champagne and I’m good to go.
This year… I don’t even know where to begin. I moved to My Perfect Apartment (for now), I took on a bunch of new clients, I met some bizarre characters and some really wonderful, amazing people.
I finally got a stamp in my passport when I went on a little adventure to England where I had the pleasure of encountering both jolly bobbies and come-hither ladies of the evening. I also met Ross, which was so awesome, there’s really just no way to explain it. Of course, that was before the hookers.
Oh! And I lost my keys somewhere in England, so if you find a ring of keys with a pink “J” dangling from it and a half-broken ignition key to a ‘95 Chevy, feel free to chuck in the Thames.
Also this year, Kathy and I wrote a book (in case you happened to miss it… like say, if you were living in the Antarctic or this is your first time on this blog), we officially became The Moxie Girls™ and acquired both a publicist and an agent — a surreal experience in itself. Have your people call our people and we’ll do a three-martini lunch, m’kay? Kiss kiss!
Heh.
In 2007, I found new levels of friendship with some of the best people I know (mikey, GFI, Heika...) and reconnected with friends I’d not spoken to in quite a while: my old roommate from Texas, Nikki, and Ms. Pants even came to visit. And I’m fairly certain I’ve made some new friends, too.
Oooo! I went to the Weiner National Weiner Dog Races this year, too. That’s definitely in my highlights for the year. That was so fun — the cuteness was almost unbearable.
This year also saw the long-overdue return of this blog, as well as my foray into photography as a hobby. Nikon provided me with a beautiful D80 dSLR (through the Picture This Program) so I could get my Flickr on. I started out the year with a Sony point n’ shoot, attempting to do the 365 Project, but I got as far as day 84 and bailed out. Now that I have the Nikon, I may consider trying it again. I feel like I’ve not done my first 6 months with my Nikon enough justice, so I re-upped for another 6 months and am going to give it the ol’ college try.
I feel like I’m missing a billion things, but I’m sure even if I tried listing it all, I’d eventually forget something. This year has been quite stressful, but all in all… good! I’m looking forward to making the most of 2008, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. More on that tomorrow. I’m going to pop in a movie and relish the last few hours of this year first.
Thank you to everyone for reading this blog and for supporting us in 2007. We wouldn’t be doing what we do if weren’t for bloggers like you. Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve! Stay safe and for the love of pete, call a damn cab.

Awww! Happy New Year lady
*cough-cough/sniff*
We watched Bridge To Terabithia. I shed a couple manly tears. And then it was watching the clock/calendar change over, check my email, and off to bed. Goddamnit, when did I become so fucking boring?
Anyway, Merry New Year! (to be said like Eddie Murphy in Trading Places)
