Thank you, Easter Bunny! Bok Bok!

  • March 23rd, 2008

I will admit to loving Easter candy, though I don’t really eat it anymore.  I think my true weakness is for the multi-colored speckled malt ball eggs.  Or anything marshmallow covered in chocolate (like those Hershey’s eggs).  I avoid Cadbury Creme Eggs like The Clap and black jelly beans are just unacceptable at any time. Don’t you hate when you eat jelly beans (or Juju Bees) in the dark and you grab one you think is purple, but lo… licorice roars through your mouth, offending your tastebuds like a date who ate liver and onions.  Man, that’s a rude awakening…

I pondered last night if anyone actual eats Peeps.  I think they’re terribly cute, but much better for decorating than actual consumption.  And microwaving…. peeps are good for microwaving.  Gather ‘round the microwave and watch the pink bunnies and yellow chickies expand beyond all recognition and explode!  It’s fun for the whole family.  Sponge and spray cleaner not included.

It’s absolutely gorgeous here today. I hope it’s beautiful where you are, as well, and that you’re going to be spending time with people you like. I wish you all the happiest of days.

xo

I really enjoy the speckled eggs too which is why I don’t buy them–not enough self-control. Hope you have a lovely day.

Am I the only one who likes licorice jelly beans? I eat them in extreme moderation though. Easter isn’t a huge holiday for me – it’s just an excuse to eat a chocolate bunny. Hope you are having a great day. smile

Uhm…i’d like an 8×10 glossy of that photo matted and framed for my living room. Stat.

My name is Alex, and I eat the peeps. I can’t seem to stop, even though I don’t exactly think they ARE edible. *sigh* smile

I’m with DJ – I love the black licorice jellies, too. LOL Not so hot on Peeps, though. And I haven’t been able to eat a Cadbury egg since I was a kid.

I’m hoping there’s some good candy going half price tomorrow, though. LOL

Awwww.  That pic is adorable.

I love the speckled eggs, choco-bunnies and Jelly Belly beans.  (The factory is not too far from me, so I got spoiled).

I used to be able to eat about 2 cadbury creme eggs at easter, but now just the sight of them makes my teeth ache and stomach clench.

That photo is adorable! Me? I never eat peeps, and I gave up on Cadbury eggs years ago. I did make brownies on Easter Sunday, but that’s only because I really wanted some brownies smile

Mmmm Brownies. Yes, I’m anti-Cadbury egg. They freak me out.  lol.

Yeah, the flavor of the middle of the Cadbury Creme Eggs isn’t good enough to justify the likeness to actual egg goo.  If it was pure liquid chocolate or something, that’d be different.

Look at little adorable you!  Happy Easter to you, too. I’m partial to the speckled egg malt ball candies, too… somehow they taste better to me then Whoppers.

Okay, that Easter pic of you from back in the day made me go “Awwwwwwww” for like five minutes.

Rasmopolitan

  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) citrus-flavored vodka
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) raspberry-flavored vodka
  • 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) Chambord
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon Simple Syrup
  • 2 tablespoons cranberry juice
  • Raspberries, for garnish

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add vodkas, Chambord, lime juice, simple syrup, and cranberry juice. Shake or stir until well chilled. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with raspberries; serve.  Repeat as needed.

As Valentine’s Day approaches (and I can drink again) I figured a new cocktail recipe was in order.  Something red and sexy.  Raspberries and booze? Yes, please!

I had breakfast here with Lyn P., who recommended it and really, really enjoyed it. The place is really unassuming and since I rarely venture into Tierrasanta, I'd never have known it was there…
