Don’t Forget Your Goat Leggings!

  • March 24th, 2008

While doing a search on iStock this morning for “clock” + “white background” for a client project, I was offered up this gem about twelve pages in.

After doing a bit of soul searching, I can’t possibly find an instance in which I’d want a chick dressed like the lovechild of Avril Lavigne and Koko the Gorilla holding a big Flava Flav Flavor Flav clock. In fact, there’s a whole series in case you require different poses.

I’ve gotten some specific requests in my time, but this takes the cake.  What company / blog / campaign / slogan / whatever could you possibly be designing for in which this image would be appropriate?

Go.

I do believe she’s exhibiting the fact that she didn’t have time to shave her legs this a.m.

According to Flavor of Love 3, it’s actually spelled “Flavor Flav”, and he really hates it when his name is misspelled.  He also hates it when you touch his face, anywhere but there.

Ok, um.  So if there was a blog called “Hot Mess of WTF” … I might put this one in the lightbox.

@chepooka: clearly I’m not up on my Flav.  lol.  “Hot Mess of WTF” might need to be my new tagline…

The only thing I can think of is Geico using these as the female version of their Cavemen for future advertisement, but I’m really not certain why they would be carrying a giant clock around.  You’re so right… this combo is just WEIRD!

I dunno, I think I’d use it for a PSA: “Parents, please make time for your kids. Sit down with them and talk about how it’s not necessary to imitate celebrities like Britney Spears and King Kong just to be popular. Do it for the children.”

…Coming up this season on “What Not To Wear”…

…It’s time to dress your age not your IQ…

It could work for a consignment style clothing store – “It’s time to recycle those old fads.”

Or how about a web design campaign – “You wouldn’t trust her to pick out your wardrobe…why choose just anyone to design your website?”

I’m having a flashback to Dragnet with Dan Akroyd and Tom Hanks.

Next Stop: Oprah! Moxie Client on Dr. Phil!

We were super excited earlier this month when our client, Patricia of MotherinLawHell.com, told us that she was going to be on Dr. Phil’s show.  Woo!  That’s amazing to start.  But when we found out her website was going to be displayed on Dr. Phil’s “big screen” we were even more excited. National television? Syndicated even? Yes, please.

Last Friday the episode aired and I made sure to record it for posterity. Full disclosure: I don’t watch Dr. Phil often (ok, ever), but I was more than happy to watch it that day! And according to Patricia, the Dr. Phil staff “LOVE the design!” and think “it’s so FUN!”.  Yay! We’re thrilled to hear that since we pride ourselves on bold and happy designs. We do fun. Come and knock on our door, Dr. Phil’s staff. Anytime! smile

Yelp Goodness

Island Style Cafe (4/5) on Yelp

I had breakfast here with Lyn P., who recommended it and really, really enjoyed it. The place is really unassuming and since I rarely venture into Tierrasanta, I'd never have known it was there…
