In the Words of Beavis… “Fire!  Fire!”

  • October 23rd, 2007

It’s getting a little warm here, in case you hadn’t heard.  My internet connection is intermittent, so you may get a reprieve from our endless book promotions. wink

I joke a bit because that’s how I deal with stress.  My heart goes out to these people… they’re saying close to half a million people have been evacuated and the fire is likely to reach the coast.  Scary. My friends have called to tell me that they’ve evacuated but to make matters worse, my cell phone has stopped working. It won’t hold a charge so no one can call, no one can text… it’s frustrating.  If anyone is trying to reach me, the best way is via email, instant message or work line, but sadly, those are dependent on my internet connection which may or may not play nicely.

It’s supposed to be a scorcher here today, too. 91 degrees on the coast, which is ridiculous for late October.  So now on top of raging wild fires, there is potential for brown-out.

Those who don’t live in California are often so afraid of the earthquakes.  “How can you live in California?!  Aren’t you afraid you’re going to break off into the ocean?” Psssh!  Earthquakes schmerthquakes.  It’s the fires and mudslides you need to be worried about.

I was perusing through various news outlets last night, reading about what is going on out there.  The photos are devastating, and awful to look at.  I cannot imagine.. how awful.  Sure hope you stay safe.

I can’t believe how many fires are down there!  So many areas have been evacuated, it’s crazy.  I hope that the fires stay away from your part of town.  There’s some fires near here too, but luckily far enough away–the air is still a bit gross though.

Stay safe!

InDEED. I asked Lyn about you and Mikey today, and she assumed you guys are in a good spot. But I hadn’t thought about all the extra fun stuff that comes with this sort of thing, like phone issues and power outages.

Be safe…we’re all thinking about you guys right now. Much of my family is running away to Kansas this week for some reason. (;)) You’re more than welcome to run here, too. More than enough room, especially for a hottie authoresse like yourself.

I thought of you and Mikey since this started.  Stay safe.

Yikes!  How close is it to you?  Be careful.  Maybe just a little singe on the eyebrows of “King” Stahlman would be fun. The “Prince” would enjoy that.

Next Stop: Oprah! Moxie Client on Dr. Phil!

We were super excited earlier this month when our client, Patricia of MotherinLawHell.com, told us that she was going to be on Dr. Phil’s show.  Woo!  That’s amazing to start.  But when we found out her website was going to be displayed on Dr. Phil’s “big screen” we were even more excited. National television? Syndicated even? Yes, please.

Last Friday the episode aired and I made sure to record it for posterity. Full disclosure: I don’t watch Dr. Phil often (ok, ever), but I was more than happy to watch it that day! And according to Patricia, the Dr. Phil staff “LOVE the design!” and think “it’s so FUN!”.  Yay! We’re thrilled to hear that since we pride ourselves on bold and happy designs. We do fun. Come and knock on our door, Dr. Phil’s staff. Anytime! smile

Island Style Cafe (4/5) on Yelp

I had breakfast here with Lyn P., who recommended it and really, really enjoyed it. The place is really unassuming and since I rarely venture into Tierrasanta, I'd never have known it was there…
