Granted, I don’t get paid for it, but I really could use this weekend to get my stuff organized, my car fixed up, maybe some of the closets cleaned out in prep for the move. Friday is the department “team-building” event and since I’m not going to be on the team for much longer and I couldn’t bill for my time bowling or whatever it is they’re doing, I’m taking the day off instead. I can’t come to work and bill either, so it’s either go and don’t bill or take the day off and don’t bill. I’ll take the latter. Add to that the Labor Day weekend and I get 4 days off!

On a totally different note, what’s the acceptable amount of time before a party to send out invitations? People’s schedules get booked up so quickly lately, I want to make sure I send the invites for my going-away shindig well in advance, but not too far so that people forget about it (or I look overanxious, which I am). Plus, I want to cross it off my list. Thoughts?
